Combined ADHD & Autism Assessments
Around 40% of people with ADHD also have autism. A combined assessment covers both conditions in a single appointment — often quicker and more cost-effective than having two separate assessments.
Why a combined assessment? Autism and ADHD share overlapping traits, and many clinicians now recommend assessing for both at the same time to avoid missed diagnoses. A single combined assessment also reduces the overall cost and time involved.

About combined assessments
ADHD and autism are separate neurodevelopmental conditions, but they frequently co-occur. Research suggests that around 40% of people diagnosed with ADHD also meet criteria for autism spectrum condition (ASC), and vice versa. Because the conditions share similar traits — difficulties with focus, sensory sensitivities, social communication challenges — many people have one missed or misattributed to the other.
A combined ADHD and autism assessment is conducted by a clinician experienced in both conditions and typically includes structured diagnostic interviews, questionnaires, and a review of developmental history. The result is a single comprehensive report covering both conditions.
If you're unsure whether you need a combined assessment, speak to your GP or contact a clinic directly. Many clinics can advise on the right assessment pathway before you book.
