About ADHD Compare

An independent comparison platform. Not affiliated with any clinic. Built to make the UK ADHD assessment landscape easier to navigate.

Who we are

ADHD Compare is an independent comparison platform helping people across the UK find the right ADHD assessment. We are not affiliated with any clinic and no provider pays for placement or ranking.

We are not a healthcare provider. We do not conduct assessments, prescribe medication, or give medical advice. We are a research and comparison tool — the same kind of independent service you would expect from a price comparison site, but focused specifically on ADHD assessment in the UK.

Why we built it

Navigating the UK ADHD assessment landscape is confusing. Pricing is hidden, Right to Choose is poorly understood, and NHS waiting times are measured in years. We built this platform to put all the information in one place — free and independent.

When we started researching ADHD assessments, we found the same problems repeatedly: clinics with no visible pricing, referral schemes that GPs did not know about, and no easy way to compare providers across regions. We spent the time researching it — so you do not have to.

If you are unsure where to start, our Right to Choose guide explains how to access a free NHS-funded assessment. Our cost guide breaks down what private assessments actually include.

How we work

We research every clinic listed on our platform. Data is sourced from clinic websites, CQC records, and direct submissions. We verify Right to Choose status against the ADHD UK provider list. Pricing is indicative and should always be confirmed with the clinic directly before booking.

Clinic data is reviewed regularly. If you spot something that is out of date or incorrect, please let us know and we will update it.

Important: Always verify pricing, availability, and Right to Choose status directly with the clinic before making any decisions or bookings. Clinic details can change at short notice.

Our principles

Independent

No clinic pays for placement, higher ranking, or preferential display. Every listing is treated equally.

🔍

Transparent

We explain our methodology. Data sources are documented. We show what we know and are honest about what we do not.

£0

Free

There is no charge to users. We do not require registration, collect payment details, or run advertising.

Updated

Clinic data is reviewed regularly. We cross-reference CQC records, provider websites, and the ADHD UK provider list.

How we calculate transparency scores

Our Transparency Score rates how much verified, publicly available information exists about each clinic. It is not a quality rating or endorsement — it measures openness and verifiability.

What's the difference between a clinic and a coach?

Clinics listed on ADHD Compare provide clinical ADHD assessments and diagnoses, typically led by psychiatrists or specialist nurses. Coaches provide ongoing support for managing ADHD in daily life but do not diagnose or prescribe medication. Both play important roles in ADHD support, but they serve different purposes.

Clinical providers

  • Conduct formal ADHD assessments
  • Provide a clinical diagnosis
  • Can prescribe medication
  • CQC-registered (England)
  • Eligible for NHS Right to Choose

ADHD coaches

  • Support with managing ADHD day-to-day
  • Help with work, relationships, and routines
  • Do not diagnose or prescribe
  • Not medical professionals
  • May accept Access to Work funding
